I’m so so SO excited to announce this weekly series I’ll be doing on my blog consistently from now on; a weekly Trend Report!
I take a class at college called NYC Trend Spotting and it is hands down my favorite class ever; it’s fun, stress free, creative, and just so enjoyable. I don’t feel like I’m doing work for that class, I just feel like I’m participating in my hobby so I wanted to expand my assignments to my outside life onto this blog!
Every week, I’ll be posting a trend that I’ve seen out and about on the streets, in school, anywhere really. I’m going to be really creepy with this and just take pictures of people who’s outfits are trendy and cool, once I get more comfortable with it I’ll probably stop people to get nicer pictures but for starters I’ll just take “candids” of strangers. :))))
Alright, now that I’ve explained my idea for this let’s get right into it!
This week was the first week of chilly fall weather, so I saw a lot of summer-to-fall transition pieces making their debut on the streets of New York. The piece that I saw the most of this week would hands down be loose fitting or wide leg pants. People were wearing them in solid colors, prints, high-waisted, cropped, you name it and they were wearing it. Honestly, wide leg pants are having a huge moment right now and if you’re not a part of it than hop on the ban wagon because you don’t want to be left behind on Last Year’s Fashion Island. Trust me… it’s not a fun place.
Pictured above are all shots I took in school/in SoHo using my iPhone.
You can find pants like this everywhere, from Old Navy to Saint Laurent, but Aritizia takes the cake when it comes to the nicest design matched with affordability. Aritzia had countless styles, colors, and silhouettes of wide-leg/loose fitting pants that I absolutely adore.
The prices range from $60-$120 but you’re paying for quality and warmth along with style, so if you think about it they’re reasonably priced! (At least I like to convince myself that they’re reasonably priced.)
Go out and buy yourself a pair of loose/wide-leg pants and rock them with every ounce of your being.
