Travel Diaries: Martha’s Vineyard

I’ve been incredibly sporadic with my blog posts because I’ve always thought blogging should follow a linear timeline of the events that happen in my life, but lately I’ve been saying f*ck it and do what you want! So that’s exactly what I’m doing here with my first of many “Travel Diary” entries. Up until this year I haven’t traveled ANYWHERE  besides to Pennsylvania or the beach within the last 11 years of my life, but lately I’ve found myself saying YES to more things and traveling places I’ve always dreamt of going. I mean seriously, I went to freaking California! One of the other places I’ve traveled to this summer has been to Massachusetts to visit my best friend at school, Jeff.

With much anticipation and outfit planning, we set sail on the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard for the dreamiest of day trips. For those of you on the east coast I encourage you to take a trip with your friends, family, or even on your own because MV is an absolute sight to behold. With clear blue water and soft white sand, the vineyard itself is a magical place.

This day, I opted for a loose fitting dress from Aritzia that I got on sale for under $40!!! I partnered it with a beach hat that, by the way, I’m totally obsessed with. If you asked me a year ago if I would ever go near a beach hat I would’ve laughed in your face but now I’m totally about them. I matched the dress up with my trusty white sneakers and was good to go. Jeff went for a brighter look with a short sleeved button up from Pacsun.

As the day progressed, we headed over to the legendary location where JAWS was filmed. How cool is that? As Jeff took a plunge into the infested waters (jokes, there wasn’t a single fish in the water that day) I decided to tan a bit. Naturally, of course, I didn’t tan at all and instead burnt like a tomato but at least I tried. And above all, my bathing suit was cute, not to mention only $11 on Amazon!

After our little beach day, we popped over to an outdoor restaurant and got some amazing drinks and food. One of the best mojitos I’ve ever had, to be honest! Then we toured around for a bit more, stopped in the shops for some local shopping and headed over to the ferry to return back to Jeff’s MA home only to fall asleep at 10 pm. The sun totally wiped us out but we had the best time.

If you like posts like these leave a comment and I’ll begin to write more, in the mean time thank you all so much for reading and I’ll catch you next time!
